Description

Reports to program director. Directly supervises the clerk. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to human resources and administration.

Essential Functions:

  1. Performs the necessary clerical functions for the human resources office.
  2. Maintain up-to-date personnel files.
  3. Provide follow-up correspondence to applicants and agencies regarding employment status.
  4. Ensure all new hire information and other personnel changes are entered into the computer and proper notification forwarded to payroll and ensure adequate and up-to-date personnel records are maintained.
  5. Inform new employees of available insurance benefits, procedures, etc. Coordinate with insurance company regarding claims, resolution of problem cases, etc.
  6. Coordinate affirmative action compliance and equal employment opportunity. Advise and assist supervisors in employee relations and benefit matters.  Refer non-routine questions to corporate human resources.
  7. Forward grievance, discrimination charges, requests for termination and other critical personnel matters to the program director for recommendation, review and coordination with the corporate office.
  8. Process paperwork for terminating employees, perform exit interviews, employee attitude surveys and report results to program director and corporate human resources.
  9. Coordinate all accounting functions with the corporate finance department.
  10. Maintain accurate weekly and monthly reports. 

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

 Education and Experience Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED. Two (2) years of human resources, administrative or related experience preferred.  Must be knowledgeable in business correspondence, including writing, spelling, grammar and appropriate formats, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
