Vehicle Maintenance Worker

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am 4pm


Brief Job Description:
In this position, you will: Perform diagnostics, maintain and repair our vehicle fleet (vans, trucks, buses), air-brake systems, and heavy equipment (lawn mowers, heavy duty trucks, cranes, forklifts); maintain the shop and tools; and keep records. You will also transport students as needed, and provide positive, quality customer service to students and staff. All staff are responsible to consistently model career success standards and intervene when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

Education/Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in gasoline and diesel equipment repair; experience fixing air brakes. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency. Valid CDL with passenger endorsement in the state of residence with an acceptable driving record.

Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County. 

Tongue Point offers students training in 12 vocations. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program, and seamanship is the Center's largest vocation.
