Wage: $17.00 hour
Shift: Wednesday - Friday 11pm to 9am and Saturday 8am to 6pm
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:Provide guidance and encouragement for students to achieve a positive attitude and the behavior needed to accomplish their goals and objectives as they participate in our outstanding job training program.
- Direct and assist with dorm activities and dorm competitions as designated by supervisor.
- Help students deal with the daily stresses of dorm living and enlighten them to the perks of it.
- Prepare documentation including accountability of students and an activity log.
- Enter case notes and student evaluations into the Center's computer information system.
- Patrol and monitor dorm and/or grounds.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED. Able to lift and carry 30 lbs. and run up and down stairs in an emergency. Valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
THE MOST COMPETITIVE CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
One year experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation, security, law enforcement, vocational guidance or verified voluntary experience working with youth.

Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County.
Tongue Point offers students training in 12 vocations. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program, and seamanship is the Center's largest vocation.
