Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Minimum Range: $18.00 - $19.00, depending on education level and directly-related HR experience.

Essential Functions:  Perform a variety of human resources duties, including providing guidance to management and staff, assisting the HR manager, and answering routine to complex human resources questions.

Duties vary, but may also include:

  • Act as liaison between HR manager and center staff
  • Coordinate job openings with hiring manager and MTC Shared Services recruiter; prepare/update vacancy announcements as needed.  Prepare and update interview questions, as needed, with input from hiring manager.  Notify security gate of visitors’ arrival dates and times.
  • Review interview evaluations for thoroughness and fair employment practices. Check references and coordinate and monitor drug screens and background checks.
  • Conduct new hire orientation; ensure receipt and thoroughness of required documentation. 
  • Perform data entry in HRIS, entering new hires, terminations, status changes, merit increases, and other information.
  • Prepare monthly staffing reports for corporate office and Department of Labor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process and monitor OFLA, FMLA, and worker’s compensation leaves of absence; liaison with outside leave administrator as needed.
  • Conduct benefits orientation for new staff.  Assist with annual open enrollment.
  • Monitor staff credentials/certifications and notify staff and managers of renewal status in advance.
  • Coordinate all-staff events and trainings; prepare training attendance logs. 

Education and Experience Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in related field and one year related experience.  Directly-related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.  SHRM or HRCI certification a plus.  Computer proficient with advanced MS Office skills and accurate data entry.  Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.  Strong written and verbal communication and knock-your-socks-off customer service skills.
