What you will be doing This is an exempt position that will report to the counseling manager. Responsible for providing foundations course instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula in compliance with government and management directives.
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Teaching experience and valid teaching certificate in the state of employment preferred.
Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
Plan, coordinate and conduct the foundations program and other activities, in accordance with corporate guidelines and approved schedule.
Provide basic and higher level technical reading, writing and applied math instruction and assessment.
Provide explicit instruction in study skills and employment readiness by motivating and counseling students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems and/or study habits.
Select, develop and implement instructional materials that align with career technical training, key academic and career success standards.
Independently and collaboratively develop and prepare lessons plans utilizing evidence-based teaching and learning strategies.
Administer and correct tests; maintain progress and attendance reports.
Participate in student employability programs and activities.
Complete performance evaluations for all assigned students and participate on performance evaluation (PE) panels.
Recommend an appropriate training program for each assigned student, using background files, personal interviews and tests.
Provide students with employment, career technical training, personal and social adjustment counseling on individual and group bases.
Continuously evaluate individual student’s attitudes, participation and commitment within the foundations program; intervene when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Develop and conduct enrichment programs as assigned.
Identify areas needing and coordinate services for improving guidance and development techniques within foundations program.
Provide instruction in key academic, technical and career success standards.
