While this North Dakota position is mostly remote, there will be times when working in a designated office will be required. MTC Is now hiring for Licensed Addiction Counselor positions to provide initial assessment and substance use disorder treatment services to clients across the State of North Dakota. Work involves planning, coordinating, and implementing addiction counseling activities using Free Your Mind and Seeking Safety curricula to ensure the maximum utilization of resources available for treatment and rehabilitation in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR) directives.
Essential Functions:
Assists in planning addiction counseling programs; and coordinates the delivery of counseling services to clients with histories of chemical use, abuse, or addiction. Provides a comprehensive evaluation from a battery of valid measurement tools to assess the recovery needs and the re-offense risk of offenders. Provides counseling and recovery skills training; participates in client orientation, educational and individual and process counseling groups in compliance with program standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Maintains client records and other records regarding services provided to include statistical feed back on evaluations; and compiles data and submits reports and related documentation as appropriate. Completes required forms, assessments, progress reports, or other documents for each client on caseload to reflect level of participation and quality of completion. Submits required documentation to appropriate authority as required for each client during and at completion of program. Utilize approved curriculum and provide appropriate treatment programming and structured activities as required for contractual compliance. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Coordinates or participate in transition meetings, treatment team meetings and other required program driven support, recovery-based activities as required by contractor.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and current licensure as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counselor Examiners required. Individuals pursuing addiction counseling licensure through supervised internship experiences may also be considered. Employment is contingent on becoming licensed by an agreed upon date. Valid driver’s license in the state of North Dakota with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must complete preservice program and annual training requirements. Must successfully pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by ND DOCR. Must pass drug screen. Must complete training as required and approved by ND DOCR. Must receive training in the Principles of Effective Intervention, cognitive behavioral interventions, and the use of reinforcement to support behavioral change.
