Pay: Minimum Salary Range -- $55,000
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Brief Job Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and safety and security activities of the department.
  • Serve as liaison between center and federal, state and local law enforcement and fire officials as well as local industrial safety and security managers in security and law enforcement matter. 
  • Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance.
  • Regularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports.
  • Regularly inspect facility; maintain quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessment, safety, fire, and emergency disaster plans.
  • Manage fire protection. Conduct frequent fire drills and inspections of the facility.
  • Conduct orientation and in‑service training programs for staff and students.
  • Provide records and reports of departmental activities upon request by management, insurance underwriters, DOL and other government agencies.
  • Conduct security related and tort claims investigation; process investigations.
  • Manage motor pool and transportation functions.
  • Assist the student personnel office with judicial matters. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Two years’ supervisory experience required. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements. Bachelor's or Associates degree preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by MTC for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County. Students apply for admission and work at their own pace, guided by academic and career training instructors who are committed to their success. Tongue Point offers students training in 12 vocations. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program; it is the Center's largest vocation.
