MTC is currently seeking candidates interested in a HVAC Maintenance Technician position. This position is responsible for duties involving HVAC repairs and general maintenance repairs on equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives. Starting pay $23.87 an hour. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
  2. Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.
  3. Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
  4. Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.
  5. Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures, washers, seals, etc.
  6. Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e., painting, as directed.
  7. Direct the work of detainees assigned to facility maintenance as appropriate.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance checks on HVAC systems.
  9. Perform routine schedules checks of HVAC systems.
  10. Requires long periods of walking and standing.
  11. Climbing stairs and ladders as required for facility maintenance.
  12. Pushing and pulling of maintenance tool cart is required.
  13. Respond to emergency situations or equipment breakdowns.
  14. Providing cleaning, transportation, moving of equipment as needed.
  15. Regular attendance is required.
  16. Promote the development of positive social skills among detainees through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  17. Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, training and licensing in the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems required. General knowledge of repair and maintenance, and three (3) years of maintenance or related experience also required. Must have United States Citizenship and successfully complete pre service training. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
