Description: Reports to Warden and supervises Count Room Clerk. Responsible for management of counseling services, which includes case management and reception/discharge procedures in compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.
1.Plan, coordinate and supervise administrative and programmatic activities of the dept.
2.Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance and recommend changes approved by the manager, programs and coordinated with Human Resources prior to implementation.
3.Assist the Warden in annual dept. budget while monitoring and controlling expenditures.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting counseling.
5.Ensure that administrative procedures are followed such as record keeping, maintenance schedules, etc.
6. Promote the development of positive social skills.
7. Maintain accountability of offenders and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within her/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from a college or university accredited by CHEA or USDE. Major course work in Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice or related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required three (3) years may be substituted for 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year for year basis. Three years full-time wage-earning experience. One-year full-time wage-earning Offender classification experience. Valid drivers license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required.
