POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director, Health & Wellness, this position is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of student accommodation plans and networking with community resources. Provides health and wellness course instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Provides students with basic direction and knowledge of accommodations and health and wellness in compliance with government and management directives.Duties include, but not limited to:• Oversee accommodation review process by reviewing Job Corps applicant files. Review each request for completeness and determine if the request for accommodation is simple or complex in nature. Approve or arrange for simple accommodations to be provided for all students identified on center.• Develop accommodation plans for students in coordination with appropriate staff. Review and monitor plans on a monthly basis.• Input approved accommodation plans into the Center Information System (CIS). Set up and maintain accommodation files.• Provide training to all new students regarding the disability and accommodation programs.• Develop linkages with off-center agencies to ensure accommodation/transitional needs are met.• Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.• Develop and implement extended learning opportunities for trainees that take place after normal training hours..• Motivate and counsel students in the areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor’s Degree and 1-year related experience. Directly related experience may be substituted for education requirements. Past experience working with youth, developing linkages with disability and mental health agencies, developing accommodations for clients and mental health, physical and learning disability issues required.• Strong Computer Proficiency – Knowledgeable of MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)• Excellent written and verbal communication skills & analytical skills• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
