Description

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide overall supervision for center standards through effective planning, staff scheduling and student participation in establishment of rules.
  2. Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training and implement personnel changes as approved by the center director and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementation.
  3. Develop and monitor departmental budget, control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
  4. Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting student standards of conduct; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
  5. Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
  6. Determine and administer disciplinary action for students who have violated student standard of conduct; counsel students when their behavior on and off center is inappropriate.
  7. Coordinate and monitor review board and peer court functions and actions.
  8. Coordinate student discipline with other center staff and maintain documentation of records and reports on activities.
  9. Conduct orientation and training on disciplinary system for staff and students; prepare and update student disciplinary handbook.
  10. Coordinate preparation of behavioral significant incident reports for review by center director.
  11. Act as liaison between courts and other judicial agencies.
  12. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
  13. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
  14. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  15. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
  16. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  17. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
  18. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Wage: DOE $65,000-67,000

Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years related experience, one of which should be in a supervisory capacity. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
