What you will be doing
This is a non-exempt position that will report to the supervisor, maintenance. Responsible for duties involving repairs and maintenance of structures, electrical systems, plumbing, washers and dryers, heating and ventilating and air conditioning systems, in compliance with government and management directives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and technical training in building maintenance and repair.
- One-year related experience and computer proficiency required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilating, air conditioning and drainage systems; recommend contracted assistance when on-center repair is not possible.
- Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets, and fuses as directed.
- Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
- Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
- Perform repair or replacement of plumbing, fixtures, washers and seals.
- Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e. painting as directed.
- Direct students assigned to on center work experience.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance checks of buildings and equipment.
- Perform routine scheduled checks of air conditioning and heating systems.
- Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
