MTC is currently seeking candidates interested in a Library Aide. This position is responsible for coordinating library activities in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

 Essential Functions:

• Plan and organize library program for detainees.
• Adhere to and enforce library policies and programs.
• Select, acquire and organize library materials for convenient access.
• Review requests, and select books and other library materials according to mental state, educational background, and special needs of detainees.
• Coordinate the work of detainees assigned to assist in the library and supervise detainees using the library resources.

Regular attendance is required.

Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of library, clerical, administrative or related experience required. Must successfully complete required pre service training. US Citizenship required. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
