Director, Health and Wellness

Wage:  $70.000 - 80,000 / year

 Brief Job Description:

• Plan, coordinated and supervise the administrative and programmatic activities of the department.
• Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training for wellness staff as well as required trainings for new hires and center staff.
• Develop departmental budget in collaboration with the finance and administration director.
• Develop and implement new and revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the wellness department.  Train and coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
• Review and audit assigned areas regularly, or at least monthly, per MTC’s data integrity policy, for contractual compliance.
• Assure clinical services, including medication management, are within health staff scope of practice and within federal, state, and local regulations and statutes.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Active, unrestricted Oregon Registered Nurse license and three years related experience, one of which should be in a supervisory capacity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.  Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.  Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by MTC for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County. Students apply for admission and work at their own pace, guided by academic and career training instructors who are committed to their success. Tongue Point offers students training in 12 vocations. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program; it is the Center's largest vocation.
