Pay: $15.00 hr

 Position Summary:

Reports to health services administrator. Performs a variety of routine clerical duties associated with health services in compliance with MTC Medical, Otero County, and the various directives.

 Essential Functions:

1. Provide clerical support related to medical records, scheduling, documentation, etc.
2. Prepare correspondence, reports and letters; proofread material to verify accuracy.
3. Maintain appropriate medical supplies, as well as office supplies.
4. Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.
5. Schedule appointments for medical providers.
6. Log medical restriction list.
7. Coordinate, ACA, Chronic Care and Infectious Disease documentation.
8. Maintain records and files.
9. Verify insurance and billing for hospitals, clinics etc.
10. Coordinate, track and schedule inmate medical consults.
11. Attend staff meetings; promote communication and proper flow of relevant information between correctional departments.
12. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
13. Maintain accountability of staff, inmates and property; adhere to safety practices. 

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent and (1) year varied and responsible clerical experience required. Valid driver’s in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas with acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
