MTC is currently seeking candidates interested in a Medical Records clerk (MRC) position. In this role, you will perform specialized clerical functions in the maintenance of detainee medical records in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

Other essential functions include: 

  1. Ensure medical records are accurate and security stored.
  2. Act as medical records liaison with health services and security and administration.
  3. Responsible for ensuring all audits: QI activity related to medical records is accurate and timely
  4. Maintain records of services and prepare billing documents submitted to appropriate agencies for facility reimbursement of health care costs.
  5. Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules.
  6. Supervise and ensure daily audits of medical records occur to ensure accuracy and quality of documentation, and review results for any pattern of deficiencies. Communicate these findings to healthcare staff and at QI meetings.
  7. Ensure requests for medical information from outside hospitals, clinics, physicians are processed. Secure pertinent medical information from other sources relative to the treatment of patients.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years office experience including word processing or computer data entry experience.  Medical records experience required. US Citizenship is required. Must successfully completer required pre service. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
