The Sanders Estes Correctional Center in Venus, Texas is dedicated in helping change the lives of people by providing effective rehabilitative programs and services to men and women to make their time in prison more productive and to reduce re-offending.

$18.00/hour

Essential Job Functions:
Oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of all food preparation equipment and ensure that it is kept in safe and operable condition. Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure the count and control of all kitchen tools are accurate at the beginning and end of each shift. Supervise offenders in the serving of meals as required. Ensure that counts are performed accurately for all offenders assigned to the kitchen. Promotes the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Diploma or GED. One (1) year full-time, wage-earning experience in correctional, commercial, or institutional food preparation or food service management experience or eighteen (18) months of correctional custody or law enforcement experience required. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
