HOPE is a residential/outpatient chemical dependency treatment facility for justice-involved clients re-entering the community. Located in Henderson, Texas the HOPE treatment facility is looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor who can perform moderately complex substance abuse counseling. Plan, coordinate, and implement substance abuse counseling activities; and coordinate with other departments to ensure the maximum utilization of resources available for chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation.

What does this role look like?
Essential Functions: Assists in planning substance abuse counseling programs; and coordinates the delivery of counseling services to residents with histories of chemical use, abuse, or addiction.
The incumbent is expected to perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED. Current licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) or current valid Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) license to provide substance abuse treatment. A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record is required unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must complete preservice program and annual training requirements. Must successfully pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by TDCJ. Must pass drug screen.
