Position Summary:
Reports to supervisor of assigned department. Responsible for the completion of a wide variety of tasks to include keeping assigned areas clean and orderly in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Duties:
- Clean and sanitizes restrooms and associated fixtures.
- Wash walls, windows, ceilings and woodwork. Dusts desks, bookshelves, cabinets and other office furniture.
- Collect and dispose of all trash, litter, and other debris on grounds, streets and parking lots. Sweep and clean exterior steps, entrances, landings and sidewalks.
- Prepare and cook food required according to menu approved for the Snack Bar under the supervision of the snack bar operators.
- Maintain the student union snack bar to meet all state and local health regulations and safety requirements.
- Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly working condition under the supervision of the snack bar operators.
- Perform miscellaneous clerical duties involving typing and filing.
- Perform clean-up and sanitation duties in the food preparation, storage and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards at all times.
- Assist IT staff with software-related products, and utilize various software applications to help manage common tasks.
- Interact with IT staff to establish processing priorities and explain the capabilities and limitations of the available hardware and software.
- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
- Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
- Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
Requirements:
- Must be completer and ready for work based learning.
- Must be ServSafe certified in order to work in cafeteria
