We are currently hiring for a

Part-time Secretary/Assistant

Monday-Friday 9am-1pm

Position Summary:

Position reports to the designated manager and performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties, in compliance with government and management directives.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Receive telephone calls and visitors; handle routine matters personally and route non routine business to proper staff for consideration
  • Maintain calendar and schedule appointments
  • Act as liaison between manager and other Center staff
  • Maintain correspondence control log, receive incoming and outgoing mail and follow up on dates for action items
  • Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties; preparation of special reports, maintains files and records, statistical data, make travel arrangements, etc. as required
  • Perform clerical duties including typing of correspondence and other materials
  • Ensure department information is organized and available for department managers, staff and students
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff, and other Center customers
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corp’s Zero Tolerance Policy

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience required.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required.  Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
