Essential Functions:
1. Maintain the grounds and inside the facility, by removing and disposing of litter and debris.
2. Perform general labor and maintain facility appearance by cleaning hallways, dining area, bathrooms
and other areas of the facility as assigned.
3. Lift, carry, open and unpack boxes using hand truck or dolly, if necessary.
4. Move furniture, strip, refinish and buff floors.
5. Perform specific janitorial duties by squatting and bending to perform such functions.
6. Empty and sanitize trash containers in accordance with sanitation procedures.
7. Maintain all cleaning solutions and equipment in a secured area.
8. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and
intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
9. Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as
determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year of general janitorial experience preferred. Must
successfully complete pre-service training. Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an
acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and maintain appropriate facility clearance.
