Description & Qualifications: Sierra Nevada Job Corps offers young adults vocational training in a variety of trades. Our campus provides outstanding recreational opportunities, well-equipped learning labs and individualized, self-paced vocational and academic programs including high school diploma and GED programs.
Recreation Advisors -
This position is responsible for monitoring and directing students engaged in center-sponsored recreational activities on and off center. Among other duties, this position will:- Assist the recreation manager or supervisor in planning, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified program in a variety of recreation activities. - Organize and supervise student participation in a variety of recreation activities. - Assist with monitoring of the student store. - Create positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques through activities on and off center. - Model appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions as well as maintaining a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment. - Provide positive, quality customer services to the students, staff and other center customers.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year recreation experience or verified voluntary experience. Experience with youth, and excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must possess or acquire within 60 days of employment, a valid Nevada CDL license with an acc
