Position name: Career Counselor 

Facility name: Tulsa Job Corps Center

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45 am – 4:45 pm with one day per 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Job responsibilities: The career counselor is responsible for planning and implementing a professional individual and group counseling program for assigned students. 

Essential functions: 

1. Provide students with employment, career training, personal and social adjustment counseling on an individual and group basis. 
2. Continuously evaluate individual student’s attitudes, participation, and commitment in career preparation program, intervene when inappropriate behaviors are observed. 
3. Maintain documentation and training records for each student. 

Education and Experience Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, including 15 semester hours of instruction in social services or related instruction.
• One year experience in counseling or related field required.
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
