Job responsibilities:

  1. Patrol and monitor dormitories and center as required to ensure safety and proper behavior of students and resolve potential or occurring problems.
  2. Direct students or assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory.
  3. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
  4. Conduct required health and safety inspections, submit necessary work orders and monitor for satisfactory completion.
  5. Assist with ensuring all students have exited the dormitory areas each morning before the training day.
  6. Assist with packing student belongs for departure.
  7. Patrol and monitor dormitories on a consistent basis to ensure safety; assist with resolving any potential or occurring problems.
  8. Conduct daily inspection of dormitories and surrounding dormitory grounds, report concerns as necessary.
  9. Check windows and doors in the forms, to ensure the security of the dorms.
  10. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
  11. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  12. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required  
  • one year experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation or vocational guidance preferred.  
  • Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.  
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
