Work schedule:   Monday thru Friday 8-5

Job responsibilities: Directly supervises the counselors, career preparation instructors, career transition instructors, and clerk. Responsible for the management of career development services, which includes counseling, maximum benefits, performance evaluations and other counseling programs in compliance with government and management directives. 

Essential functions: 

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and programmatic activities of the department
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training and implement department and personnel changes as approved by the community living and support manager and coordinated with the human resources manager prior to implementation
  • Assist the director of educational services in the preparation of the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures
  • Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting counseling and career preparation services; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center directives

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, including 15 semester hours of instruction in social services or related instruction, with 5 years experience in counseling or related field, and 2 years experience working with youth and young adults, required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of human behavior, individual and group counseling techniques, management skills and case summaries.
  • A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
