Overview

Salary: 
Bachelor’s degree -- $760/wk
Master’s degree -- $840/wk

Schedule:  Monday - Friday: 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Must be available for evening and weekend on-call responsibilities approximately every eight weeks.

Counselor Job Duties:
Reports to the Employability Services Manager.  Responsible for planning, coordinating, developing and implementing a professional individual and group counseling program for assigned students in compliance with government and management directives.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Master's degree or Bachelor's degree and one year experience in counseling or related field.  Course work must include 15 semester hours of instruction in social service.  Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. .

About Tongue Point:
Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by MTC for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County. Students apply for admission and work at their own pace, guided by academic and career training instructors who are committed to their success. Tongue Point offers students training in 12 vocations. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program; it is the Center's largest vocation.
