Salary:  $40,000.00

Description & Qualifications         

Essential Functions:
Reports to counseling manager.  Responsible for providing students with individual career transition services in compliance with government and management directives. Develop a career transition plan for assigned students and monitor the progress of assigned students. Assist assigned students with individual career selection and assess student workplace readiness; provide labor market information on geographic areas of interest. Provide referral or post separation services as needed. Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports. Participate on student evaluation panels; prepare required documentation and evaluations using CIS, as well as other systems of documentation. Monitor and document job placement follow-up on terminated students. Identify potential jobs, schools, military, or other training program career development for separating graduates. Compile required data from respective areas in order to prepare student’s resume and placement documents. Coordinate and maintain communication with other departments pertaining to student career transition. Create welcome packets for new students, update bulletin board with student/employer information. Maintain energy level up through class participation and lively discussion and problem solving of relevant topics related to the curriculum and the goal for students of finding employment and living independently once they complete job corps. Minimize “downtime” in the classroom. Research, presentations, teamwork, and ongoing readiness discussions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years’ related experience.  Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.  Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
