Position: Career Preparation Instructor

Location: Makawao, Hawaii

POSITION SUMMARY
Hawaii Job Corps is currently recruiting for a Career Preparation Planning Instructor in the Academic Programs Department. This position is responsible for instruction, coordination and planning the career preparation program for new students, in compliance with government and management directives.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Develop and conduct a comprehensive program for incoming students in compliance with career preparation curriculum in a dynamic and effective manner
• Develop and conduct programs for new students that encourage self-evaluation, self-worth, and self-confidence; emphasize student retention and employability skills development
• Develop and instruct curriculum to train new students in analysis of employability skills, technical competency skills, interviewing skills and other career related skills; organize and prepare curriculum materials and supplies. Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet student learning needs
• Provide students with employment, career training, personal and social adjustment counseling. Continuously evaluate individual student's attitude, participation and commitment
• Maintain documentation and training records for each student using CIS as well as other systems of documentation
• Assist in development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting the career preparation program learning activities

　EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelors Degree preferred with one year experience or High School Diploma and 5 years experience
• Experience working with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency also required
• Valid Drivers License with an acceptable driving record
