Job responsibilities:  This position is responsible for assisting the cooks in preparation of students meals in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential functions:

1. Provide an adequate supply of food and transfer necessary ingredients to the cooking area. 
2. Prepare vegetables, salads, meats, bread and desserts as instructed and routinely set forth in an appetizing, eye-appealing meal
3. Serve all meals when scheduled with a pleasant demeanor and clean-up after service.
4. Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition, and ensure the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
5. Promote and support positive customer service through the facility.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent 
• Six (6) months of food service experience as a food handler.
• Must possess a current ServSafe (Food Handler) Certification. 
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record required.
