Position: Substance Abuse Counselor II/DWI

The Substance Abuse Counselor II/DWI supervises Substance Abuse Counselor I’s; plans, implements and instructs the DWI programs.

Essential functions:

1. Interview offenders for program participation.
2. Provide instruction and maintain records and statistics for the DWI program.
3. Assist in planning chemical dependency counseling programs; and coordinates the delivery of counseling services to offenders with histories of chemical use, abuse, or addiction. 
4. Provide counseling and recovery skills training.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning experience in substance abuse treatment or substance abuse education. 
• Current valid license as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
• Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
