Work schedule: Full-time; 12hr shifts

Job responsibilities: Report to the chief of security. Responsible for coordinating all pre-service and in-service training as well as implementing the annual training plan for the facility to ensure training is conducted in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Ohio Department of Rehabilitating and Correctional (ODRC) directives.

Essential Functions:

1. Plan and coordinate officer certification training for new hires in compliance with MTC and ODRC directives.
2. Plan, coordinate and conduct in-service training for all institutional employees required by MTC and ODRC directives.
3. Plan and develop programs and training to comply with the American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation, MTC and ODRC directives.
4. Establish periodic and annual review of pre-service and in-service training programs.
5. Responsible for maintenance and documentation of all certificates and pre-service and in-service training records.
6. Develop departmental budget, monitor, and control expenditures. Review and recommend charges to budget authorizations.
7. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors are observed. Provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
8. Maintain accountability of staff, inmates, and property, adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2 years of corrections or related experience preferred, six (6) months of which must be in a supervisory capacity.
• A valid driver license (in the state of OHIO) in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.
