SALARY $62,000

Schedule: M- F, 8am to 5pm 

Brief Job Description: Reports to the center or deputy director. Directly supervises the construction trades supervisor, certification trainer, designated career technical training instructors, work base learning, business community liaison and secretary. Responsible for the management of career technical training programs which includes on-and off-center training, national contractor training, and projects management, in compliance with government and management directives. 

  • Provide staff training and evaluate staff performance. 
  • Regularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports. 
  • Inspect facilities regularly; maintain quality standards.
  • Evaluate and develop curricula, instructional materials, methods and techniques; ensure all required records and documentation are maintained as required and in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate instructor participation in student assessment panels; evaluate instructor assessments of students.
  • Assist the manager, academics with the coordination of applied academic programs.
  • Oversee the center’s CTST program including the development of the CTST plan; monitor CTST project accomplishment.
  • Work closely with the industry representatives to modify or upgrade programs as the needs of the industry change; participate in community relations activities.
  • Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary, and monitoring both position and negative behaviors through interventions.  Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy. 

Education/Experience Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree and three years related experience or technical training and six years related experience. Two years experience in a supervisory capacity preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teambuilding skills, computer proficiency, and experience with youth. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
