Job responsibilities: Directly supervises the senior security officer, substitute security officers, safety officer, and secretary. Responsible for the management of safety & security which includes student safety, security and fire protection, and liaison with security and law enforcement agencies.

Essential functions: 

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative, student safety and security activities of the department; serve as a liaison between center and immediate community in security and law enforcement matters.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training and implement department and personnel changes as approved the the community life director and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementation
  • Develop departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
  • Oversee the development of the Occupations safety and Health Plan, coordination of fire protections, inspections of the facility and frequent fire drills. Act as a liaison of federal, state, and local safety and fire officials

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year related experience, must have supervisory experience
  • Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements
  • Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
